WSXA Amsterdam 🎖 International Awards is a FilmFreeway only, Gold festival and an IMDb Award Listing Qualifier.

As an International & Independent event, the Festival Association showcases Feature & Short Films, Feature & Short Documentary works, Commercials, New Media, Music Video and Animations. It is possible to experience the WScreen archive by the monthly chronology via WSXA Vimeo Channels.

Regarding the Unification Program, WSXA & ARFF International change the country of the Award Events each year to enhance the festival experience. It's the responsibility of each filmmaker to check all the emails via FilmFreeway associated email addresses, social media updates and ticket information carefully. ARFF & WSXA International Editions are curated as Hybrid Festivals after Corona times. Award Events are focused on networking and all the screenings are scheduled online. All 4 Edition Finalist filmmakers & network members will be gathered in November 2024 // Amsterdam. The festival do not take the responsibility of the filmmakers who attend physical venues with online tickets, mistaken visa applications, flight and accommodations.

Submitters may expect that ARFF & WSXA International editions are lift off film festivals which are opening the doors for the major film festivals. Many of the alumni filmmakers have been awarded by Around Film Festivals, achieved to be associated with the pioneers such as: Cannes Film Festival, Sundance, Toronto FF, Venice FF, Berlinale, Tribeca, SXSW, New York FF, BFI London, Slamdance, LA Shorts, Raindance in years. We are delighted to connect with our global colleagues through our international team and jury members, who span Europe, United States (North and South America), Asia, and Australia who are recognized by GOYA, Academy Awards (Oscars), European Film Academy, Golden Globe & BAFTA with Fest Regards.

* All the Finalists, Winners & Honorable Mentions will receive the Official Laurels, also have an opportunity to receive their Official Certificates.

Additionally, your title would be referred to the best fit ARFF International Edition such as
ARFF Barcelona - ARFF Paris - ARFF Amsterdam & ARFF Berlin International Awards in order to compete for the yearly awards.

Optionally it's possible to have the WSXA Promo Pack, Director on Spotlight and Q&A - Interviews with the Director, Cinematographer, Producer, and the team members to be shared on our social channels with 10K Network Members.

WSXA International // WcreenShowcase changes the country of the Network Events each year. Please stay tuned for the updates.

All the Officially Selected filmmakers have a unique chance to be mentioned as ''Filmmaker in the Spotlight'' via our social channels.

Rules & Terms

1. Official Selections & Nominations will be announced on the specified dates (CET time zone) and will be published on our blog page to serve the Official Laurels on the following weeks.

2. Our board has access to all films and they vote without sharing your work publicly.
Please be sure that you have the proper English subtitle on the trailer and the full movie.

3. WSXA does not post the entire creations online unless we offer an exclusive collaboration to the right owners. we only screen your trailer, snippets, and sequences regarding the available online files provided. WScreen & ARFF International has access to online data shared through FilmFreeway and other channels.WScreen Awards is focused on the trailer showcase screening. All the Official Selections also has a chance to be referred for the Award Events to receive the Offical Certificates.

4. If your creation has the potential for collaboration - distribution, (co)production, or any commercial usage, WSXA International keeps the right to make previews with 3rd party. Still, the final action will be taken with the owner of the material here (submitter). And our team will contact you for confirmation through the possibilities. Previous yearly selections and the winner creations will be accessible with password protection in the safest way.

5. All entries should be sent via FilmFreeway or the other associated platforms with an online screener. Please don't send discs or any downloadable files to us. Accepted ''Project in the Spotlight'' participators do not have any privilege and selection guarantee in competition. The Festival will inform you in advance if your film is selected for the annual showcase. Following up with the Yearly Shortlist is the filmmakers' responsibility.

6. By submitting to the festival you confirm that you own the rights of the film and accept all the Rules&Terms. The submitter is responsible to provide the correct info and data on FilmFreeway in each section about the film and the team.

7. Festival keeps the right of changing the section of the selected film from the section which is submitted and also to change the event destination up to the global circumstances. Until further notice, all the ARFF Editions will take place online and all the ARFF film screenings will take place online, optionally with an in-person network event. Thus, the online event tickets are conceptualized as ''Spotlight Packages'' which promote the films exclusively on social media with trailers and self-made interviews. The same film can be submitted in different sections to have more opportunities. Regarding the Unification Program of ARFF & WSXA International, all 4 editions gathers in one city in each year after the pandemics, excluding the travel & accommodation expenses.

8. Festival has the right to download for using snippets, sequences, still images from the submitted material with music&sound to share on printed, social media, and the website. Also to share the IMDb data of the associated industry members. ARFF International has the right to shortlist your film automatically for screening. Thus, no film may be withdrawn from the festival program after its participation has been publicized. Non- responsive filmmakers have to cover the commutation fee due to the festival's full rental expenses individually. In case of a live screening, sessions and the fees will be determined between the Venue and the Festival. The filmmaker is responsible to follow up, with the e-mail data given on FilmFreeway and also has to contact the festival in advance, in case of any change. If you haven't heard from us after your Official Selection, it means that your creation remains as a monthly selection.

9. The festival does not charge a fee for the screenings, whereas the award ceremony is accessible via tickets. Festival does not offer any refund through withdrawal or the movies haven’t been selected for the monthly/annual editions, mistaken certificate/ticket/spotlight orders, and the canceled event due to local and global circumstances. Priority Submissions or Now Submitting Invitations do not have any guarantee to be selected. ARFF International keeps the right to disqualify the film in case of unresponsive emails for the (online/offline) screening, violating messages, or comments against the Rules&Terms and it will be followed up with legal action. Monthly Selections, Honorable Mention, Finalist & Semi-Finalist filmmakers may order Official Certificates, optionally. The Festival does not offer Free Submissions, Fee Waivers formerly.

10. Music video and Animation works have the chance to be the winner of specified categories such as; Best Director, Best Cinematography, Jury Award, Globe Award and Audience Awards.

    WSXA/ARFF Unification Awards in Berlin November 29th, 2025, was an incredible experience. Meeting & celebrating with so many International Indie Filmmakers was a pleasure, and a much needed reminder of why we create Stories, Documentaries & Films. Especially needed in this current Global landscape with AI manipulation of content. Factual, story driven productions, encourage & motivate all people globally. Travelled from Canada & well worth the cost to have Hunger Winter '45, receive Festival Laurels & Excellence in Filmmaking Award. Thank you!

    An outstanding festival experience — warm, organized, and genuinely respectful toward independent creators.
    One moment that truly impressed me happened as we entered the screening hall: the Festival Director himself greeted us personally, addressing us by country and name. It was a simple gesture, but it showed how much attention they give to every filmmaker. It immediately made the atmosphere welcoming and made us feel seen.

    The awards ceremony in Berlin was beautifully executed, bringing together creators from all over the world. The communication leading up to the event was clear and thorough, and the live experience flowed with screenings, interviews, networking, and celebrations.

    I feel genuinely honored to have been awarded at this festival.
    WSXA is not just about showcasing films — it is about valuing the people who make them, including those of us working in emerging fields like AI filmmaking.

    A meaningful and inspiring experience that I would wholeheartedly recommend to any filmmaker.
    Grateful to have been part of it, and I hope our paths cross again!
