SATURNIA FILM FESTIVAL 2026 OFFICIAL RULES
The Associazione Culturale Aradia Productions is organizing the NINTH EDITION OF THE SATURNIA FILM FESTIVAL, dedicated to a selection of the best short films from around the world. The event has three competitive sections: fiction, animation, and documentary, with the main award being the Best Director Award. The films must be short, with a maximum running time of 15 minutes, including titles.
*The Artistic Committee reserves the right to evaluate and admit films with a running time exceeding the limit set by the rules.
The competition is open to FIRST AND SECOND ITALIAN FEATURE FILMS. Three FICTION films on a general theme that distinguished themselves in 2025 will be selected.
ART. 1 - MISSION
The Saturnia Film Festival aims to be a key meeting point between emerging international filmmakers and the public (comprising film professionals and enthusiasts). The Festival's Artistic Committee will focus on selecting works that address universal themes in a personal and authentic way.
ART. 2 - DATE AND DURATION OF THE EVENT
The Saturnia Film Festival will take place from July 30 to August 2, 2026, for four days, in the squares of Saturnia, Montemerano, and the Terme di Saturnia (Grosseto, ITALY).
ART. 3 - INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL
The Festival will screen the best works selected by the Artistic Committee in three sections:

⭐️ Animation
⭐️ Documentary
All finalist directors will compete for the festival's main award: the Best Director Award.
⭐️The competition is open to FIRST AND SECOND ITALIAN FEATURE FILMS, with a selection of three films from both the FICTION and DOCUMENTARY genres on a general theme that stood out in 2025.
⭐️The competition has a parallel section, "Women's Perspectives," created in collaboration with Mujeres nel Cinema.
⭐️The competition is also open to the Art Short School Film sections.
ART. 4 - AWARDS (Feature and Short Films)
The most important awards of the Saturnia Film Festival are the bronze sculptures, created by the artist Arnaldo Mazzanti, which represent a Nymph, a symbol of the birth of water.

The Saturnia Film Festival's artistic committee reserves the sole and exclusive right to determine the eligibility of any film.
Short films submitted to the Festival (in the Fiction, Animation, and Documentary categories, which compete in both the Italian and International sections) must have been completed after January 1, 2025.
The management of the Saturnia Film Festival will select a jury of industry professionals (including film producers), who will present the following awards:

SATURNIA PITCH AWARD
The artistic commission, in collaboration with producers, will award the "Tullio Pinelli" prize to the best project.
Should any further awards be established, they will be announced later on our social media channels.
ART. 5 - SUBMISSIONS
Submissions for participation in the Saturnia Film Festival must be made electronically via the platform by no later than June 07 2026.
Films on any theme and from the genres specified in the rules are eligible. No premiere is required for films.
For selection, films in languages other than Italian must have English or Italian subtitles for the Artistic Committee's review.
The festival submission fee is €15.00, covering administrative costs. For more information, please visit the festival's official website: www.saturniafilmfestival.it.
ART. 6 - SELECTED FILMS
Selected directors will be notified by June 14 2026.
For films that are finalists, the festival secretariat will collect promotional materials (production stills, director's biography, credits, trailers, technical info, etc.). Film representatives are responsible for providing all requested materials to the Festival Organization.
The selected films for screening and the requested materials must be sent via WeTransfer by no later than June 20, 2026.
Video and promotional materials submitted to the festival organization will not be returned.
ART. 7 - SCREENINGS
The Saturnia Film Festival's schedule and the screening times for selected films are at the discretion of the Festival Organization.
Films in languages other than Italian will be screened in their original language with Italian subtitles.
The Italian subtitles will be handled by the Festival Organization. The production team of selected films must provide a list of the film's dialogues in English by no later than June 30, 2025, to allow the Organization to work on the translation and subtitle insertion.
The Festival Organization may publish a catalog for promotional purposes, featuring all submitted and/or selected works.
ART. 8
The films maybe will also be streamed only in Italy on the MyMovies platform of Cinema La Compagnia in Florence for one evening, the date of which is yet to be confirmed.
ART. 9 - GENERAL RULES
These rules are written in both Italian and English. In case of any interpretative issues, the Italian version shall prevail. The Festival management may make decisions regarding matters not covered by these rules. Any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Court of Grosseto.
REGOLAMENTO SATURNIA FILM FESTIVAL 2026
L’Associazione Culturale Aradia Productions organizza la NONA EDIZIONE DEL SATURNIA FILM FESTIVAL dedicato ad una scelta dei migliori cortometraggi provenienti da tutto il mondo. L’evento è composto da tre sezioni competitive: fiction, animazione, documentario e il riconoscimento principale è il Premio per la Miglior Regia. Le opere devono essere film brevi, la cui durata non dovrà superare i 15 minuti, titoli inclusi.
*La Commissione Artistica si riserva di valutare e ammettere in concorso opere di minutaggio superiore ammesso dal regolamento.
⭐️Il concorso è aperto ai LUNGOMETRAGGI OPERE PRIME E SECONDE ITALIANE, del genere FICTION a tema libero che si sono contraddistinte nel 2025.
ART. 1
MISSION
Il Saturnia Film Festival si propone come punto di riferimento tra i cineasti internazionali emergenti e il pubblico (composto da professionisti e appassionati di cinema). L’attenzione della Commissione Artistica del festival, sarà orientata nel selezionare opere che affrontino tematiche universali in maniera personale ed autentica.
ART. 2
DATA E DURATA DELLA MANIFESTAZIONE
Il Saturnia Film Festival si svolgerà dal 30 Luglio al 2 Agosto 2026, per la durata di quattro giorni, nelle Piazze di Saturnia, Rocchette di Fazio, Montemerano e le Terme di Saturnia (Grosseto, ITALIA).
ART. 3
FESTIVAL INTERNAZIONALE DEL CORTOMETRAGGIO
Il Festival propone i migliori lavori selezionati dalla Commissione Artistica nelle tre sezioni:
⭐️Fiction
⭐️Animazione
⭐️Documentario
Tutti i registi finalisti, concorreranno per il riconoscimento principale del festival: Premio per la Miglior Regia.
⭐️Il concorso è aperto ai LUNGOMETRAGGI OPERE PRIME E SECONDE ITALIANE, che prevede la selezione di un FILM sia di genere FICTION che DOCUMENTARIO a tema libero e che si è contraddistinto nel 2025.
⭐️Il concorso ha una sezione parallela "Sguardi di Donne" creata in collaborazione con Mujeres nel Cinema
⭐️ Il concorso è aperto anche per le sezioni Art Short School Film.
ART. 4
PREMI (lungometraggi e cortometraggi)
I riconoscimenti più importanti del Saturnia Film Festival che ricevono la scultura in bronzo, creata dall'artista Arnaldo Mazzanti, che rappresenta una Ninfa simbolo della nascita delle acque sono:

1. Il Comitato artistico del Saturnia Film Festival si riserva il diritto unico ed esclusivo di determinare l'idoneità di qualsiasi film.
2. I cortometraggi presentati al Festival (nelle categorie Fiction, Animazione, Documentario* che gareggia nelle categorie italiana e internazionale) devono essere stati completati dopo il 1 ° gennaio 2025.
3. La direzione del Saturnia Film Festival sceglierà una giuria di membri del settore (compresi i produttori cinematografici), che assegnerà i seguenti premi:

PREMIO SATURNIA PITCH
La commissione artistica in collaborazione con i produttori assegnerà il premio “Tullio Pinelli” al miglior progetto.
Qualora fossero previsti ulteriori premi, saranno comunicati successivamente sui nostri canali social.
ART. 5
ISCRIZIONI
Le iscrizioni per la partecipazione al Saturnia Film Festival, dovranno essere effettuate attraverso invio telematico, tramite la piattaforma entro e non oltre il 7 Giugno 2026.
Potranno partecipare film a tematica libera e secondo i generi previsti dal regolamento. Non è richiesta nessuna Premiere per i film.
Per la selezione, i film in lingua non italiana, dovranno essere sottotitoli in inglese o italiano per la visione della Commissione Artistica.
L’iscrizione al festival ha un costo a partire da 15,00 Euro, valido per le spese di segreteria. Per maggiori informazioni consultare il sito internet ufficiale del festival www.saturniafilmfestival.it
ART.6
FILM SELEZIONATI
1. I registi selezionati saranno avvisati entro il 14 Giugno 2026.
2. Per le opere considerate finaliste, la segreteria del festival si occuperà di raccogliere materiale promozionale dei film (foto di scena, biografia del regista, credits, trailer, info tecniche, ecc.). I responsabili dei film si impegnano a fornire tutto il materiale richiesto dall’Organizzazione del Festival.
3. La copia dei film selezionati per la proiezione e i materiali richiesti, dovranno essere inviati tramite file wetransfer entro e non oltre il 20 giugno 2026.
4. Il materiale video e promozionale inviato alla organizzazione del festival non verrà restituito.
ART.7
PROIEZIONI
1. Il programma del Saturnia Film Festival e gli orari di programmazione dei film selezionati, sono di competenza della Organizzazione del Festival.
2. I film in lingua non italiana, saranno proiettati in lingua originale con i sottotitoli in italiano.
3. I sottotitoli in italiano saranno curati dalla Organizzazione del Festival. La produzione dei film selezionati dovrà fornire la lista dei dialoghi del film, in lingua inglese entro e non oltre il 30 giugno 2026, per permettere alla Organizzazione di poter lavorare alla traduzione e all'inserimento dei sottotitoli nel film.
4. L’Organizzazione del Festival, può pubblicare un catalogo a scopo promozionale dell’evento, con tutte le opere presentate e/o selezionate.
ART.8
I Film potranno essere proiettati anche in streaming solo dall'Italia dalla Piattaforma MyMovies di Cinema La Compagnia di Firenze, per una sola serata ancora da concordare.
ART.9
NORME GENERALI
1. Il presente regolamento è redatto in italiano e inglese. In caso di problemi interpretativi, fa fede la versione italiana. La direzione del Festival può prendere decisioni relative a questioni non previste dal presente regolamento. Per ogni eventuale controversia è competente il Foro di Grosseto.
