A) Eligibility Requirements
1. Films completed on or after 1 Jan 2024, are eligible for consideration.
2. Films in any language can be submitted. Submissions not in English or Spanish should include English subtitles.
3. Entrant confirms and warrants the required legal authority to submit the entry to the Festival and to use all music, images, and content in the entry.
4. The undersigned shall indemnify and hold harmless Erotic Film Festival Barcelona from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees, and costs of the court) that may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered.
4. There is no premiere policy. Qualifying films are permitted to have already been screened at other festivals and be freely available online.
5. All submissions must be completed original works.
6. You have obtained the consent and release for every individual appearing in your Content.
7. You have verified that each individual appearing in your Content was at least eighteen (18) years of age at the time of production and you have collected, examined, and maintained sufficient records of this age verification.
8. No individual appearing in your Content has been convicted of any crimes relating to sexual assault, sexual exploitation of a minor, trafficking, and other related criminal offenses.
9. The Content complies with our Terms and does not contain or comprise prohibited material such as child sexual abuse material, non-consensual content, revenge porn, blackmail, misleading content, or depictions of individuals under the age of eighteen (18).
10. Does not violate any applicable law, including communications that would give rise to criminal or civil liability
11. Does not advocate or otherwise condone any illegal activity
12. Does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party
13. Does not violate or infringe the rights of any person or entity, including a personโs right to privacy
14. Does not consist of, or contain computer viruses, malicious computer code, computer trojans, political campaigning, commercial solicitation, chain letters, mass mailings, or any form of โspam.โ
B) Submission Guidelines
1. Only complete entries (including fee payment and screener) will be considered.
2. Entrants are permitted to submit works-in-progress (i.e., without final colour correction or sound mixing), but please note that the programming committee will only consider the version submitted. Subsequent cuts or replacement copies will only be accepted at the request of the programming committee.
The submission categories are:
- Romantic Erotica
- Queer Erotica
- Fetish & BDSM Erotica
- Fantasy, Period & Sci-Fi Erotica Erotica
- Experimental and Avant-Garde Erotica
- Documentary
All films must be 45 minutes or less in length.
C) Judging & Selection
1. Films are selected for Festival presentation by the Erotic Film Festival Barcelona programming committee. If a film is selected, the Festival office will contact the entrant by email. We will aim to notify selected filmmakers at least two weeks before the first day of the festival edition.
2. The Festival does not provide feedback or screening notes to entries that are not selected.
3. All selected films are judged during the Festival. The Festival does not provide feedback or screening notes to entries that are not selected.
4. The winner of Film of the Festival, selected by the Erotic Film Festival Barcelona programming team, will receive a cash prize of $250.
5. All jury and programming decisions are final.
6. The cash prize will be paid to the winner within 60 days of the award announcement.
D) Entry Fees
1. All submissions for the Erotic Film Festival Barcelona are to be paid through FilmFreeway.
2. The submission fee is non-refundable.
3. Entry fees are not refundable. Fees cover registration, consideration by the programming department, and notification of the results.
4. There are no fee waivers.
E) Promotion
1. Selected films must acknowledge that Erotic Film Festival Barcelona reserves the right to promote the films on the Erotic Film Festival Barcelona website and social media using both images and video that you provide.
2. Erotic Film Festival Barcelona is hereby granted the right to utilise an excerpt from any film submitted and accepted for exhibition at the Festival for promotional purposes, including future editions of the festival.
