RULES & TERMS
Entries for the Festival are open for national and international fiction, animation, documentary and experimental feature and short films.
Productions must have been completed as of January 1, 2024
The submission of films to the Festival will be made through the FILMFREEWAY.COM platform.
Final term: The producer who owns the rights must submit the film to the Festival, before September 18, 2026.
Registration through the official platforms of the Festival will have the character of a sworn statement and in it you declare that you know and accept these regulations.
Registration for Ecuadorian films will be free.
No film will be considered submitted until the Festival receives the pre-selection copy online.
Copies with Spanish or English subtitles can be submitted for selection.
The Festival does not require a premiere condition but will give priority to films that have not been previously screened in the Republic of Ecuador.
Once registered and selected, the film cannot be withdrawn from the Festival's programming, nor can it be exhibited in Ecuadorian territory before its official presentation at the FICC.
SECTIONS
The Festival's programming will include competitive and non-competitive sections. The films scheduled will be included in the section that the selection committee deems appropriate.
For the selection, their duration will be taken into account: The festival considers feature films a minimum duration of 40 minutes and for short films up to a maximum of 39 minutes.
The Festival will have four competitive sections:
-International Feature Film Competition: National and international fiction, animation, documentary, and experimental films of 40 minutes or more are accepted.
-Latin American Feature Film Competition: National and Latin American fiction, animation, documentary, and experimental films of 40 minutes or more are accepted.
-International Short Film Competition: National and international fiction, animation, documentary, and experimental films of 39 minutes or less are accepted.
-Ecuadorian Short Film Competition: National (Ecuadorian) fiction, animation, documentary, and experimental films of 39 minutes or less are accepted.
OTHER SECTIONS
Humanist Cinema: Films that offer a new perspective on humanist, environmentalist, and human rights cinema.
Horror and Fantasy Cinema: Films that offer an innovative perspective on fantasy and horror cinema.
SELECTION
The Selection Committee will be made up of members of the FICC, who will carry out their work in accordance with the quality and creativity parameters previously established by the Festival Management.
In all cases, the screening copies will be sent over the Internet.
In the event that the film is selected, the person who made the registration will be notified and instructions will be given to send the screening copy through the official platforms of the Festival.
In addition to the screening copy, those responsible for the selected films must upload the following materials to our official platforms:
-2 (two) still images from the film, 300 DPI. Size 10 cm high by 15 cm wide colored. JPG format
-1 (one) photo of the director / s, 300 DPI. Size 10 cm high by 10 cm wide colored. JPG format
-Biofilmography of the director maximum 450 characters with spaces. In the following format, NAME, + 450 characters
-Synopsis of the film, maximum 600 characters with spaces.

In addition, a dialogue list in original language and English (with time codes) and a digital file with the final cut of the film as projected will be required to prepare the subtitling.
FINAL CLAUSES
The organization of the festival presupposes that the producers or filmmakers who register through this call have the rights to exhibit their works, the FICC and the Ecuadorian Cinematographic Arts Corporation being exempt from any civil or criminal liability.
The people linked to the selected films undertake not to publicize their participation until their Organization announces the Festival's programming at a press conference.
Participation in the Festival implies acceptance of these regulations. Any conflict (of organization or operation) not foreseen in these regulations will be resolved by the Festival organization.
The presentation of the films implies the total acceptance of these bases. The interpretation, modification and application of the same corresponds to the organization of the FICC.
Registration fees will not be refunded in any case.

REQUISITOS Y ELEGIBILIDAD
Las aplicaciones para el Festival están abiertas para largometrajes y cortometrajes de ficción, animación, documental y experimental nacionales e internacionales.
Todas las producciones deben haber sido terminadas después del 1 de enero de 2024.
La inscripción de películas al Festival se realiza a través de la plataforma FILMFREEWAY.COM.
Deadline final: El productor que detente los derechos deberá inscribir el filme al Festival, antes del 18 de septiembre de 2026.
La inscripción a través de las plataformas oficiales del Festival tendrá carácter de declaración jurada y en ella declara que conoce y acepta el presente reglamento.
No se aceptarán inscripciones que no sean ONLINE- de ningún país.
La inscripción para los Filmes ecuatorianos será gratuita.
Ninguna película quedará inscripta hasta que el Festival reciba la copia de preselección on line.
Para la selección se podrán enviar copias con subtítulos en castellano o inglés.
El Festival no exige status de premiere pero les dará prioridad a los filmes que no se hayan exhibido con anterioridad en la República del Ecuador.
Una vez inscripta y seleccionada, la película no podrá ser retirada de la programación del Festival, tampoco podrá ser exhibida en territorio ecuatoriano antes de su presentación oficial en el FICC.
SECCIONES
La programación del Festival incluirá secciones competitivas y no competitivas. Los filmes programados serán incluidos en la sección que el comité de selección considere apropiada.
Para la selección se tomará en cuenta su duración: El festival considera largometraje una duración mínima de 40 minutos y para cortometraje hasta un máximo de 39 minutos de duración.
El Festival incluirá cuatro secciones competitivas:
-Competencia latinoamericana de largometrajes: Se aceptan películas de ficción, animación, documental y experimental nacionales e latinoamericanos de 40 minutos o más.
-Competencia internacional de largometrajes: Se aceptan películas de ficción, animación, documental y experimental nacionales e internacionales de 40 minutos o más.
-Competencia internacional de cortometrajes: Se aceptan películas de ficción, animación, documental y experimental nacionales e internacionales de 39 minutos o menos.
-Competencia ecuatoriana de cortometrajes: Se aceptan películas de ficción, animación, documental y experimental nacionales (ecuatoriana)de 39 minutos o menos.
OTRAS SECCIONES
Cine humanista: Películas que aportan una nueva mirada de cine humanista, ecologista y de derechos humanos.
Cine de Horror y Fantasía: Películas que aportan una mirada innovadora en el cine fantástico y de terror.
SELECCIÓN
El Comité de Selección estará integrado por miembros del FICC, quienes llevarán a cabo su trabajo según los parámetros de calidad y creatividad fijados previamente por la Dirección del Festival.
En todos los casos el envío de las copias de proyección se realizará a través de Internet.
En caso de que la película sea seleccionada, se notificará a la persona que realizó el registro y se le informará sobre las instrucciones para el envío de la copia de proyección a través de las plataformas oficiales del Festival.
Junto al screener, los participantes seleccionados deberán subir a nuestras plataformas oficiales los siguientes materiales:
-2 (dos) stills del film, 300 DPI. Tamaño 10cm de alto por 15 cm de ancho color. Formato JPG
-1 (una) foto del director/es, 300 DPI. Tamaño 10cm de alto por 10 cm de ancho color. Formato JPG
-Biofilmografía del director máximo 450 caracteres con espacios. En el siguiente formato, NOMBRE, + 450 caracteres
-Sinopsis del film máximo 600 caracteres con espacios.

Además, se requerirá una lista de diálogos en idioma original y en inglés (con time codes) y un archivo digital con el corte final de la película tal cual será proyectada, para preparar el subtitulado definitivo.
CLAÚSULAS FINALES
La organización del festival presupone que los productores o realizadores que se inscriben a través de esta convocatoria cuentan con los derechos de exhibición de sus obras, quedando eximidos el FICC y la Corporación Ecuatoriana de Artes Cinematográficas de cualquier responsabilidad civil o penal.
Las personas vinculadas a las películas seleccionadas se comprometen a no difundir su participación hasta que la programación del Festival sea anunciada por la Organización del mismo en conferencia de prensa.
La participación en el Festival supone la aceptación del presente reglamento. Cualquier conflicto (de organización o de funcionamiento) no previsto en el presente reglamento será resuelto por la organización del Festival.
La presentación de las películas implica la total aceptación de estas bases. La interpretación, modificación y aplicación de las mismas corresponde a la organización del FICC.
Las tasas de inscripción no se reembolsarán en ningún caso.
