Indira Iman is an Indonesian film director and writer based in Jakarta, Indonesia. She earned her bachelor's degree at Jakarta Institute of Arts' Faculty of Film and Television, and is an alumna of Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN) Fantastic Film School. Most recently, her short horror 'Rong' won Air Canada Best Short Film Award at the 24th Toronto Reel Asian, Best Fantastic Women Short at the 11th Cinefantasy film festival Sao Paulo, and is an official selection of the Sundance Film Festival: Asia. Her works have continually explore the personal and political issues in Indonesian society, often with genre films as her vehicle and Indonesian traditional cultures and beliefs adding fantastic elements to them.
