Castaway Film Festival is an annual celebration of Yorkshire films and Yorkshire filmmakers! Hosted by accessible theatre charity Castaway Goole, the festival encourages the submission of films that celebrate neurodiversity - however all films and filmmakers are welcome!
Based in a prime location on the cusp of the M62, Goole sits between major Yorkshire cities such as Hull, York, Sheffield and Leeds. Our mission is to bring together the aspiring and professional filmmakers from all over Yorkshire to share and celebrate their work. After two years of online festivals, we hope to finally bring the festival back into the building to celebrate together, face to face.

  • Great film festival set in Goole, I'm very thankful for having the films Overdue and CATVID-19 being selected over two separate events, consecutive years. Where the first of the two (2019) I had the pleasure of being able to attend a really welcoming, entertaining, and socially pleasing event. Great hosts, and very supportive towards filmmakers and their projects!
With the second year (2020), affected by the pandemic, it was still an incredible and amazing effort that Cataway Goole put into their online adapted version of the festival, again the same welcoming, social, and supportive traits were clear to see, and with a nice selection of entertaining films available to watch.

Looking forward to future events, I would encourage others to submit your film projects to Castaway Film festival.
