Celebrating our 5th season!!!

The Below The Line Film Festival is named for crew members and creatives who don't get the fancy billing and publicity that Hollywood is known for. They are the gaffers, the prop masters, the set dressers, the electricians, the animators, the PAs - all the people who make films happen every single day. We want to provide an opportunity for people, who may not have the financial resources or connections, to have their work seen and critiqued. Filmmaking is a community venture, we know that, and we believe all members of the community should be honored, thus our title.

We accept short films from all filmmakers, seeking to lift up films that can often get lost in the mix of glitz and glam.

Our short film festival accepts films from filmmakers of all kinds, types, pedigree, nationality, race, etc. Films must be no longer than 25 minutes.

  • It was great to have my short film part of Below the Line Film Festival and to be able to attend. My family and I enjoyed their selection of short films and I'm so glad a platform like this exists. Dakota and Jeff were lovely and I would submit more short films to this festival in the future.

  • Truly a remarkable festival, on many levels. The communications from the organizers (Jeff and Dakota) is excellent and fosters interactions among filmmakers. The quality and diversity of the films was top-notch. I am honored to receive Honorable Mention for my music video "Happy Trans Girl Like Me," featuring my daughter Kelly Sisco and I singing our original pop song that we sung at many venues. Looking forward to participating in this festival next year. I was happy to contribute an article and a promotional video this year. xoxo Fran Sisco, 1013/25
