The award winning Soho Horror Film Festival, running for 9 years, is one of the UK's freshest and most punk rock genre film festivals; bringing a whole new slate of terror to the UK in an intimate and unique setting, replicating the nostalgic tradition of watching films with your friends at a sleepover. They are forever championing the inclusivity and accessibility of the horror genre for all, and waving the Pride flag that #HorrorIsQueer. Soho Horror Fest is built on the principle of three I's:

Independent; Striving to provide films a chance at playing the big screen, that may not otherwise get to.
Intimate: Presenting films in an environment that is welcoming to all, always maintaining our horror-family community.
Inclusive: Always being both a platform for minority or marginalised filmmakers and voices - be it from race, gender, sexuality; and also being a festival that is a safe space to everyone. We are the weirdos, mister.

Soho Horror Film Festival dilligently harvests films from all corners of the globe and prides itself on showing the breadth and depth of the genre; films that challenge, entertain, drop your jaw, strain your smile and redefine your boundaries.

The Soho Horror Film Festival runs three festival events through the year:

Soho Horror Pride - an annual showcase of the LGBTQ+ voices and narratives within the genre.

Soho Horror Film Festival - our big theatrical event, entering it's 9th edition, and hosted in central London. Played on the big screen, with very special immersive elements and with the very best community in horror.

Sohome Horror Fest - the virtual component of our festival, hosted in the most secure platform available, seeking to further the accessibility of film festivals for those who can't access their in-person counterparts due to medical, fiscal or sensory reasons.

The Soho Horror Fest presents both a Jury & Audience award for best feature and best short films, as well as a variety of more niche categories.

In continuous efforts to platform exposure to independent filmmakers, the Soho Horror Fest works alongside a variety of UK and International distributors, and will always endeavour to promote networking with distribution and sales agents where possible.

Online screeners are the preferred method of submission, being less wasteful, more environmentally sound and cheaper.

We count film running times as follows:
Short Films: 1 min - 16mins
Mid Length: 16mins - 60mins
Feature Films: 60 mins - 140 mins

Please note that by submitting a film you confirm that: You are authorised to submit the film to the festival, including all permissions from any distributor and/or sales agent associated with the film and that all necessary clearances (including music) have been made.

Our film played as part of the SoHome online festival and it was a great experience. Even though we weren't playing in person It was awesome to be able to be part of community and watch each others films. They even extended the schedule so we didn't miss out on any of the films. I would definitely submit again.
