From a castle in France to the coastline of Portugal, it’s been quite a ride so far.
In 2017, I wrote and directed my first short film, Girl Seeking Wood, which won Best Film, Writing, and Editing at the Pittsburgh 48 Hour Film Project. It went on to become an Official Selection at Filmapalooza in Paris, France. My wife and I flew there for the premiere, screened in a centuries-old castle where we watched films from around the world, ate gelato, drank French wine, and somewhere along the way I fell in love with independent filmmaking.
Since then, I’ve continued making short films through the Pittsburgh 48 Hour Film Project — a fast, chaotic, and beautiful challenge where you write, shoot, and edit a film in just 48 hours — while continuing to build my career in creative direction and commercial storytelling. Whether I’m racing the clock on a short film or leading a branded shoot, the goal is the same: honest performances, thoughtful craft, and storytelling that feels human.
This year, Andre and Phil Go Up the Hill earned Best Film of Pittsburgh and brought us back to Filmapalooza, this time in Lisbon, Portugal. Different films, different countries, same obsession.
I hope you enjoy watching these films as much as I’ve enjoyed making them.
