Born in Scotland to English parents and raised in Belgium and Sheffield, I have since settled in London where I began work as an illustrator before moving into directing.
My films have been screened at festivals such as Cannes Film Festival, PÖFF, Bolton, Sunderland, Encounters and London Short Film Festival and I am currently working on more shorts whilst developing a feature film about lorry drivers in the 1970s.
During my formative years I went to an international school close to Brussels. This upbringing exposed me to a vibrant mix of nationalities and a fascinating fusion of American, European and British culture.
When I moved to England at the age of eight was a culture shock, one that has since deeply influenced my work. In my short film, Writer, I re-drew a contemporary interpretation of the 'angry young man' archetype, not as an oppressed individual, but instead as an over-entitled one. Subsequently, I’ve explored other themes such as accident trauma in Undone, lockdown isolation in Fingernails, and most recently, societal alienation in NO BALL GAMES.
I also works as a freelance creative art director and illustrator.
