Ryan's note:

The inspiration for this song started with a video on YouTube featuring Swizz Beatz vs Just Blaze, battling over who had the better beats. There was something about the bounce in Swizz’s beats that inspired me to chase that bop. So I started digging for samples and came across a song called Her Room by Anja Garbarek and within 30 seconds I knew it was perfect.

I sped up the sample, looped it, then added a baseline with some additional sounds, the beat was done in like 20 minutes.

After the beat was done we needed a good hook to fit. The only thing that kept coming up in my head was a line from Jay-Z, “watch on arm rim on tire†, so I created something to finish it. I wrote a verse then JGiza wrote a verse and the rest is history.
