Kathy O. Lofton is an award-winning indie filmmaker, writer, photographer, and native Memphian who began making films in her late 40s. She has progressively acquired skills through mentorship, trial, DIY study, and basic effort.
To-date, her genre of works include shorts, features, documentaries, experimental, music videos, visual poetry, and fiction. The result has been screenings in Memphis, Atlanta, Germany, Nashville, Los Angeles, New York, Vancouver, India, and London.
Additionally, she is an actress.
Lofton is masters-educated in Business and Public Administration, respectively. She is a National Urban Fellow, community advocate, non-profit board member, and owner of Lofton Media, her one-woman small business.
Kathy is a member of Indie Media Arts South, a collaborative of the Sundance Institute and the National Endowment for the Arts.
