Playwright and screenwriter C.J. Ehrlich loves to write perplexed characters into dark comedy corners to watch them fight their way out. Her award-winning plays have enjoyed hundreds of productions in all corners of the US, and as far afield as Seoul, Chennai and Wogonga, Australia. (Wish list includes Ypsilanti, Pyong Yang and Ouagadougou). Published in The Best American Short Plays of 2014-15 and many "Best of" annuals, C.J. was dubbed a "master of the ten-minute play form" by Smith and Kraus. She is a proud recipient of St. Petersburg’s Neem Award for Improbable Writing.
After co-creating the web series O-TOWN NY C.J. pivoted to screenwriting. Her comedy pilot LOSER ISLAND and female-led horror feature FINAL EXAM have amassed many awards, including The Writer's Lab, Top 10%; Creative Screenwriting TV Pilots, Top 10 Finalist; Top 3% on Coverfly; Austin Film Festival Second Rounder(s), and the prestigious Cinestory Lab Semifinalist.
In prior lives she was a destruction engineer, a British to English translator, and (according to the mug) Best Mom Ever. As an EMT and ambulance driver, CJ learned that a well-trained first responder crew beats a panicky mob any day. More at CJ-Ehrlich.com.
