Entries for TATOA's 2023 Government Programming Awards are now being accepted through Monday, July 31, 2023.

YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO FILL IN ALL OF THE REQUESTED FIELDS IN THE FilmFreeway PLATFORM. VERIFY THAT YOU ARE ENTERING YOUR PIECE IN THE CORRECT CATEGORY BY USING THE PROPER FORM, THEN INCLUDE THE TITLE, ORGANIZATION AND A BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ENTRY. We are not like other organizations that require an extensive writeup and proof of results. We are a group of video professionals that are instructed to judge only the video entry itself. If you would like to include context on how you may have accomplished something that's related to the production itself, feel free to include that somewhere, but is not necessary.

Submissions need to have been produced and released between June 1, 2022 and May 30, 2023 The cost of each entry is $50 for members and $65 for non-member organizations. TATOA Members MUST USE CODE "TATOAMEMBER" to get your member discount applied at checkout.

Each category will recognize 1st, 2nd and 3rd place entries with a trophy. Those entries receiving an "Award of Merit" will receive a certificate. Any entries that result in a tie will receive the appropriate award from that category.

Entries MUST be received and paid for by July 31, 2023 for them to be eligible to move on to judging. If there are any particular circumstances that would delay payment, please let us know in advance. The FilmFreeway platform does not accept checks. Payment MUST BE DONE by credit card or PayPal.

We reserve the right to combine or separate a category based on participation. If any split category has fewer than five entries, split budget categories may be combined at our discretion.

The TATOA Government Programming Awards rely on peer review. Exceptions are for both "Best Overall" categories and the "Kurt Ugland Programming Impact Award." Both of these are done outside of TATOA membership.

The TATOA GPA's are primarily judged by their peers from other TATOA member organizations. Please be prepared to judge entries and leave appropriate, CONSTRUCTIVE comments.

Any specific video can be entered in no more than two separate categories. An exception would be it's inclusion in "Best Overall" categories as one of your clips.
Judges will only be required to watch no more than 10 minutes of any single entry regardless of length with the exception of Best Overall categories which has a 15-minute limit.

TATOA is an organization that embraces government video production done by our member cities and counties. Self-produced entries are strongly encouraged.

Any collaboration where the actual entry was produced by an outside agency needs to be disclosed, while delineating what work was done by the entering organization and that by the "contractor."
