Studio 66 Film Nights is a grassroots but steadily growing film event in Melbourne, run by Taymaynari Productions and The Fitzroy Art Collective, and currently hosted at The Hollywood Actor Lab. Its mission is to showcase local films that may not otherwise find a platform.

The program runs from March to November, with eight themed nights throughout the year. Filmmakers submit their work to align with a specific theme, and screenings are held on the last Saturday of each month.

Each night, attending filmmakers are invited on stage for a Q&A with our host, award-winning filmmaker Brett Sixtysix.

Please note: our venue is an older building and is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible.

At the end of each screening, the audience votes for their top three films of the night. Each selected film receives a laurel, with the highest-rated film crowned Audience Choice. All monthly winners then compete in the End-of-Year Finale, where audiences vote for the ultimate Film of the Year.

At each screening, the audience is invited to vote for their top three films of the night. Votes are tallied on the spot, and the winning entries are awarded Audience Choice, Second Place, and Third Place — with each film receiving an official laurel.

The Audience Choice winner from each monthly event is then re-screened at our November Finale, where all finalists compete for Film of the Year. The winning film receives a trophy, and the top three finalists are featured on our website.
