REGULACIONES Y CRITERIOS DE ELEGIBILIDAD

El comité del festival seleccionará los cortometrajes que serán parte de la programación de la decimonovena edición de SHORTS MÉXICO, compuesta por las diferentes secciones, en competencia, muestra y programas especiales.

El comité de selección de SHORTS MÉXICO se reserva el derecho de crear otras secciones competitivas. Al inscribir tu cortometraje al festival te hace elegible para todas las secciones oficiales, tanto competitivas como muestras y programas especiales.

INSCRIPCIÓN

● Las inscripciones para formar parte de la selección oficial de Shorts México-Festival Internacional de Cortometrajes de México 2024, podrán realizarse del 1 de Marzo al 31 de mayo de 2024, 23:59 hrs. (CST).
La inscripción será en línea a través de las plataformas:

● Independientemente de la etapa de inscripción que se elija (temprana,
intermedia ó tardía), todos los registros pasan por el mismo proceso. La única
diferencia entre las inscripciones es la cuota (fee).

Inscripción temprana:
Cortometrajes mexicanos del 1 de marzo al 10 de marzo, €15
Cortometrajes extranjeros del 1 de marzo al 10 de marzo, €20

Inscripción regular intermedia:
Cortometrajes mexicanos del 10 de marzo al 10 de abril, €20
Cortometrajes extranjeros del 10 de marzo al 10 de abril, €25

Inscripción tardía:
Cortometrajes mexicanos del 11 de abril al 31 de mayo, €24
Cortometrajes extranjeros del 11 de abril al 31 de mayo, €30

Te invitamos a inscribir tu cortometraje lo más pronto posible para que
aproveches el costo de registro más bajo.

● Podrán participar cortometrajes producidos durante el periodo de 2022 a 2024. El comité de programación podrá hacer excepciones en el año de producción.
● Se exhibirán cortometrajes con una duración máxima de 30 minutos (el comité de selección podrá hacer excepciones).
● Los participantes pueden registrar un número ilimitado de obras.
● La publicación de la lista de cortometrajes que conformarán la selección oficial Shorts México-Festival Internacional de Cortometrajes de México 2024, se realizará durante el mes de agosto, por medio de las redes sociales y la página oficial del festival: shortsmexico.com
● Para todas las secciones que forman parte de la selección oficial se aceptarán los cortometrajes grabados en formato digital, filmados en 35mm, 16mm y 8mm, así como los realizados con dispositivos móviles. Los formatos de exhibición aceptados para la decimonovena edición de SHORTS MÉXICO son DCP, archivo digital HD. Los cortometrajes deberán entregarse con subtítulos incrustados en inglés, si su idioma original es el español, ó con subtítulos incrustados al español si su idioma original es otro. Los aspectos técnicos de proyección y requerimientos para las exhibiciones, serán enviados a los seleccionados.
● Una vez aceptada la participación, los cortometrajes no podrán ser retirados de la selección oficial bajo ninguna circunstancia.
● Si su cortometraje resulta seleccionado en el festival, es necesaria la firma de la carta de autorización y de aceptación de las normas del festival, por el representante legal de la obra audiovisual, la omisión de este requisito significará descalificación automática.
● Si su cortometraje resulta seleccionado, toda la información requerida para el catálogo y el material de difusión de los cortometrajes para la decimonovena edición, deberá ser enviada al correo electrónico programacionshortsmexico@gmail.com
● La decisión del comité de selección será inapelable.
● Los gastos de envío y transporte de las copias enviadas físicas, correrán a cargo del participante y serán enviadas a las oficinas de SHORTS MÉXICO en la Ciudad de México: Calle Recreo 89, Actipan, Benito Juárez, CP. 03230, Ciudad de México.

Competencia Mexicana
● Se podrán inscribir los cortometrajes realizados en cualquier formato de video o cine; la producción debe ser mexicana sin importar la nacionalidad del director, el lugar ó el país de filmación. Los cortometrajes deberán entregarse subtitulados en inglés, con excepción de aquellas producciones cuyo idioma original sea otro, que deberán estar subtitulados al español.

Competencia Iberoamericana
● Se podrán inscribir los cortometrajes realizados en cualquier formato de video ó cine; la producción debe ser iberoamericana, sin importar la nacionalidad del director, el lugar ó el país de filmación.
● Todas las producciones con subsidio de los países iberoamericanos son consideradas para esta sección. Los cortometrajes deberán entregarse subtitulados en inglés, con excepción de los cortometrajes provenientes de Brasil y Portugal, que deberán estar subtitulados al español.

Competencia Internacional
● Se podrán inscribir los cortometrajes realizados en cualquier formato de video o cine, subtitulados al español y producidos en cualquier parte del mundo.

CONDICIONES

Todos los participantes aceptan íntegramente las bases de esta convocatoria, así como las resoluciones que tome el comité del festival ante cualquier situación no prevista en ellas.
Al formar parte de la Selección Oficial, el cortometraje puede ser parte de la programación de SHORTS MÉXICO en sus programas en canales de televisión abierta, con previa autorización del realizador. Podrán formar parte del Tour Shorts México que se lleva a cabo durante todo el año en la Ciudad de México y en ciudades y localidades de la República Mexicana, así como en diversos países, con previa autorización del realizador.

ENGLISH:

ELIGIBILITY

Short films produced between 2021 and 2023 may participate. The programming committee may make exceptions in the year of production.
For all sections, short films digitally recorded or filmed in 35mm, 16mm, 8mm, or short films recorded in mobile devices will be accepted, the exhibition format is DCP, HD Video File, with on-screen spanish subtitles embedded.

Eligible short films must have a maximum duration of 30 minutes (The selection committee may make exceptions).

It is not required for shorts films that are not Mexican to have been premiered in Mexico. Short films that have been screened at any other international festival can participate.

The publication of SHORTS MEXICO 2024 Official Selection will be held August 10th 2024, on social networks, fan pages of SHORTS MEXICO and the official website of the festival www.shortsmexico.com

All information required for selected participants, as for the catalog, press kits, and promotional material of selected short films, must be sent to programacionshortsmexico@gmail.com
Participants can register an unlimited number of works. Short films may not be withdrawn from competition under any circumstances, once their participation is accepted.

It is mandatory to all the selected works to sign the authorization letter for exhibitions and approval of the festival’s rules, by the legal representative of the audiovisual production, the failure to do so implies immediate disqualification.
The festival does not return copies of the films submitted. (Digital copies)
The selection committee's decision is final.

International Competition

Short films made in any video format are accepted and can be produced anywhere in the world.

Iberoamerican Competition
Short films made in any video format are accepted. The production must be Iberoamerican, regardless of the nationality of the director and the place or country of filming.

Short films must have English subtitles, with the exception of the films coming from Portugal and Brasil that must have Spanish subtitles. Short film productions from Spain, Portugal and any Latin American country are part of the Iberoamerican category.

Mexican competition
Short films made in any video format are accepted. The production must be Mexican, regardless of the nationality of the director and the place or country of filming. Short films must be subtitled in English, at the exception of the productions whose original language is not Spanish, they must be subtitled in Spanish.

SELECTED FILMS

Selected works will be required to sent in, a HD video file, both with on-screen english subtitles embedded, a .srt file and the list of dialogues of the production in spanish or english.
By submitting a short film to the festival, the people owning the rights of the film accept the rules and regulations thoroughly expressed in this document, consequently, authorize them to exhibit the film during the dates and venues determined by SHORTS MEXICO.

People owning the rights of the film, must assure having the rights to exhibit the film.
People owning the rights of the film, release SHORTS MEXICO, and any of their representatives, affiliates, coordinators, operators, programmers, directors, clerks,
from any claim or legal issue that arises from the exhibition of the film at SHORTS MEXICO film festival´s venues and Tour.

If the owner of the short film does not deliver the material required by the SHORTS MEXICO´S committee, in the dates and deadlines provided, they will be disqualified.

All the selected films will be given a certificate of participation in México International Short Film Festival - Shorts México. The Mexican short films selected in any competition of the festival will be able to submit their short film to the Ariel prize of the AMACC (Mexican Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences).

All registered short films have the exact same process, regardless of the stage of registration that is chosen, late registrations are processed and watched exactly the same way as the early and intermediate ones, the only difference is the fee.

We suggest you register your short film as soon as possible to take advantage of the most affordable fees.
