Changing Climate, Changing Lives (CCCL) Film Festival is the first film festival on climate change in Thailand bringing young and diverse artists, environmental professionals, and audiences together to celebrate films about climate change and empower local communities. The 4th edition of the festival will take place in person, comprising film screenings and talks. A collection of titles will be made available for online viewing.

Filmmakers in Asia are invited to submit fiction, documentary, experimental, and animated short films. All selected films are eligible for the short film competition, awarding jury prizes in documentary and non-documentary categories, Young Filmmaker Awards, the Audience Award, and the Youth Jury Award.

SHORT FILM COMPETITION
Judged by film critics, filmmakers, and environmental academics, the Short Film Competition is divided into two categories:

1. Documentary Category:
Grand Jury Prize: the winning film receives THB 50,000
Jury Prize: the winning film receives THB 30,000
Special Mention: the film receives THB 15,000

2. Non-Documentary Category:
Grand Jury Prize: the winning film receives THB 50,000
Jury Prize: the winning film receives THB 30,000
Special Mention: the film receives THB 15,000

AUDIENCE AWARD
The festival audience judges this award. The winning film receives THB 20,000

YOUNG FILMMAKER AWARDS
Young Filmmaker Award (for a filmmaker who is 25 years old and under)
The winning film receives THB 20,000

YOUTH JURY AWARD
Youth representatives judge this award. The winning film receives THB 20,000

Note: The jury members and CCCL reserves the right to withhold an award if they find none of the entry merits a particular award and prize. The decision of the organizers shall be final.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
1. CCCL Film Festival accepts only short films produced by filmmakers based in Asian countries.
2. Short films must tell stories related to climate change impacts.
3. The total length of the film must be under 15 minutes (inclusive of the title sequence and closing credits)
4. Films are selected on the basis of quality and originality. No premiere requirement. However, preference is given to premieres.
5. Films must be completed after June 1, 2022. We also accept previously submitted films.
6. Any film in a language other than Thai must provide English subtitles.

ENTRY CONDITIONS
1. Applications must guarantee that no rights of third parties are violated by the material used in the complete film submitted to the festival. Applicants have sole responsibility towards third parties in case of disputes over copyright violations.
2. Applications ensure that the screener or preview link provided is accessible till January 15, 2024.
3. A work-in-progress or rough-cut version of your film is acceptable. To avoid confusion throughout the screening review process, we recommend you work on your project until it’s ready to submit.
4. CCCL Film Festival is not able to provide feedback regarding your film in any case.
If selected, applicants must deliver a film file and all promotional materials requested to CCCL Film Festival.
5. All films selected for the CCCL Film Festival automatically include an irrevocable grant to the Tonkla Rak Lok Foundation on behalf of the CCCL Film Festival to use any material from the film including footage, posters, and stills for promotional, marketing, or educational distribution purposes.
4. CCCL Film Festival may contact the filmmakers for permission to exhibit their films at the online festival, CCCL Film Tour events, and educational events that take place after the festival.
5. CCCL reserves the right to revise, alter or otherwise change any information or rules announced here or elsewhere without prior notice.
