Director Biography - Meredith Thomas

Meredith Thomas spent her early childhood in Utqiagvik, Alaska, the northernmost settlement in North America where her parents taught Inuit grade school students through the Bureau of Native Affairs. She went by her Inupiat name, Chuky whicn means junior until she moved to the lower 48 at age 7.

As one of Lifetime Movie's top actors, second only to Vivica A. Fox in numbers, Meredith became disheartened by the limited number of female directors she had worked with in feature length movies. That moment turned into a movement as she went from disheartened to second unit directing 9 feature length movies in just 2 years. She is proud to call "Spirit Quest with Jack Maxwell" her 1st first unit directing job.

A producer as well, Meredith has a passion for inclusion. In 2018 she created a charity event called FYC Independents. It gave a platform to underrepresented talent including people of color, performers with disabilities, LGBTQ talent, seniors, and women. The FYC Independents' movement helped lead to countless Emmy® nominations and wins, including the first black married couple ever nominated in the same year for Primetime Emmy®'s, the first out trans actor nominated for a performance Emmy® Award, and a leading actor nomination for "$TACK$" which she produced.
