N.D.E.

LOGLINE:
A teen addict, JOSE’ has a revelatory Near-Death Experience [N.D.E.] after being shot while breaking into someone’s home. His spirit form rises from his dead body, and he is confronted first by a Demon and then by the LORD. The revelation changes his life and that of his community.

SYNOPSIS:
Jose’ is smoking crack with other addicts when the dope runs out. He goes on a mission to burglarize someone’s home, but the occupant is prepared, and Jose’ gets shot.
His family surrounds him in his hospital bed, but Jose’ codes. He is whisked away into a dark place. A Demon proceeds to beat him and knock him around in the darkness all the while accusing him of having no care for his life. Jose’ fights back unto utter exhaustion. Defeated, he falls tearful, remorseful, and apologetic. His Mother’s prayers can be heard in voice over as she prays the Rosary for him.
In Jose’s hell, a light begins to illuminate the darkness.
The light gathers into the shape of a being - a Light Being. The Light Being leads Jose’ out of the darkness and into a bountiful garden where the light is revealed to be an aura around the person of the LORD Jesus. The Lord gives Jose’ a new name, Shidra, and tells him that he has forgotten he is an artist. Jesus sends Jose' back to his body to, “do the work that he was sent to do.”
To everyone’s amazement, Jose’ awakens after being dead for nine minutes. He overcomes his addiction and becomes the great Artist, Shidra. He opens an art center in his community and brings art classes to children. His center is supported by the local Arts and Business Council.
