Maria-Crystal Melo born in Toronto Ontario Canada co-directed the Award winning short film ‘Lake Memoirs’ for W.A.S.T.E FILMS. It was premiered in the York Region Film festival to spread awareness for the lakes of Ontario. She portrayed the role of Nadia in a short film WAVE Premiered Vancouver International Film Festival, and Premiered Aesthetica Short Film Festival, UK. Directed by Jasmine Mozaffari and Caitlin Grabham about a restless young man who struggles with his fathers illness, as (Nadia) his girlfriend tries to stay within their challenging relationship. TWISTED received a MERIT AWARD From the Canada short film festival also premiered at the Los Angeles CINE film festival 2016. Maria Crystal Melo also appeared in the award winning web series The Spell Tutor. A Bloody Mess will be screened internationally at the Florence Film Festival -Monthly Competition, and Queen Palm International Film Festival in Palm Springs California. She has also started writing screenplays and has a passion for producing and to collaborate with other likeminded filmmakers .
