Experiencing Interruptions?

FCK (Friends Can't Kiss)

When two gay best friends, Ben and Matthew, accidentally sleep together, are they dating? Are they still friends? What’s supposed to happen next? Meanwhile, Leigh’s been doing everything to coerce her long-term girlfriend, Julia, into allowing a third into the bedroom. Unfortunately, Julia’s waited until the last moment to confront her girlfriend about it. Literally, the last moment: the guy is standing in the living room. What the fck are we supposed to do now? FCK (Friends Can’t Kiss) is a web series about young queer adults navigating loving, unconventional relationships in conventional, hetero New York.

FCK is a story about connection. We are always under pressure to label the connections in our lives; this person is my friend, this person is my lover. But what happens when those lines become blurred, especially when one's desires already don’t fit what society has traditionally deemed “acceptable”? With all the extra pressure and scrutiny that comes with being queer, how can you quiet the noise and hear what’s truly in your heart? In this pilot we are with a group of young queer friends struggling to navigate their relationships and understand their own needs. We explore the value of connection as a support network that will get us through life’s intricacies of ups and downs, of joys and sorrows; and the salvation that human warmth and understanding brings in an impersonal urban environment, especially for those often made to feel less worthy.

This film proudly features queer people of all ethicities in front of and behind the camera. Women accounted for the majority of roles behind the scenes including the director, sound design, color design, art design, and more.
