Director Biography - Quin de la Mer

Quin de la Mer is an artist known for their conceptual work. Crossing media boundaries, de la Mer’s practice includes fresco painting, alternative photographic processes, text-as-medium, digital art, and moving image art. Heavily influenced by the power, beauty, and value of the autonomous self in conflict with the pain, destruction, and disempowerment that comes with collective embodiment, their works are visual manifestations of authentic, emotional responses to external conditions, particularly the formations that arise out of collective consciousness (aka “hive mentality”).

Director Statement

Deeply upset by the impact of environmental pollutions supported by industrial consciousness, this work recognizes Climate Change as the most serious problem caused by human produced greenhouse gases. Most important, Climate Change causes extinction of our global ecosystem. That is to say: Climate Change = Mass Global Extinction.
