Erik Borner, born in West Germany, grew up surrounded by a family that loves film and music.
After his usual school-education, he straight went to the drama school and became a professional actor. During that he had several jobs in the Hotelbusiness, also as a singer in Bands and Big Bands and later on he got more and more involved in the German TV-Business as an actor and Voice over talent.
In the meantime, he was obsessed with the passion of filming. He started making countless short films, music videos and later, with his own production company, also made documentaries, image films and other fictional films.
From the very beginning, it was important to him to learn as many departments of filming as possible in order to become a good director, who had also got to know everything else at the set and in the postproduction process.
In addition to his acting, he worked as a cutter, DoP, production manager, stage builder, author and composer.
Awarded as exemplary director at the 8th Youth Film Days / Frankfurt / Germany for his first fictional short film "Nine o'clock" and awarded with the ITVA award for his 2nd documentary, he finally presents his feature length arthouse debut with his film "Silence".
If you would asked Erik why he did it, like he did it, he would answer: Because life taught me and I deeply hope, there is more to come...;-)
