Melbourne Nocturnal Film Festival

All genres welcome! If you have a narrative, documentary or animated short film that is a little off-kilter, we want to see it!

Requirements:
• Under 20 minutes in length.
• Open to all Australian filmmakers.
• Narrative, documentary and animation shorts of any genre accepted.
• Student films accepted.
• You must secure permission from the rights holders of any and all copyrighted and/or trademarked content or materials included within your film.
• No premiere requirements!
• Films must have been completed after January 1, 2021.
• Preferably, the director or producer of the project will attend the screening and Q&A in Melbourne if selected.
• The discounted 'Footscray Focus' submissions are open to local filmmakers only. To be eligible, the director or producer of the film must be a resident of Footscray or the immediate surrounding suburbs, and/or the film must have been shot in Footscray or the immediate surrounding suburbs. If you enter this category and do not meet the requirements, you may be disqualified.

Submission fees:
$20 (AUD) per entry for narrative, documentary and animated shorts.
$10 (AUD) per entry for 'Footscray Focus' submissions. This category is for local filmmakers only.

We are committed to promoting filmmaker’s projects on the lead up to the festival. We consider each event an opportunity for networking with other artists and people from the industry.

All Official Selection films receive 2 complementary passes to attend their screening.
