Now in our third year, Evansville Museum International Drone Film Festival is accepting submissions for its juried competition where short films from around the world compete for cash prizes and the opportunity to be selected for our event. Official Selections for the Festival will be chosen by local and regional jurors and and celebrated on the giant dome of the Koch Immersive Theater and Planetarium in Evansville, Indiana, USA on September 12, 2020. Entrants will be able to exhibit their work as well as compete for cash prizes. We invite you to enter our event become part of a showcase of the best that aerial cinematography has to offer.

Entries chosen as Official Selections of the Festival will compete for cash prizes. Winning selections will be announced on September 12, 2020 to our Festival audience.

All entries must be submitted through the Evansville Museum International Drone Film Festival (EMIDFF) festival page on FilmFreeway.com specifically via this url: https://FilmFreeway.com/festival/EvansvilleDroneFilmFestival. All film submissions must be done through direct upload to FilmFreeway.

Film Submissions – To be considered for the EMIDFF your content must meet all the specifications and requirements relating to film categories and submission. Your film does not need to exclusively contain aerial footage, but must incorporate at least 50% Drone footage. You agree you will not submit any content that is defamatory, obscene, pornographic, racially, culturally, or ethnically offensive, harassing, intimidating, threatening, hateful, discriminatory or abusive. You may enter submitted films in one or more categories. Separate entry fees apply.

Film Selection – Films are reviewed continuously during the application period and you will be notified no later than August 31, 2020 if your film has been selected as an Official Selection of our event.

Jury Panel – A panel of three judges will make the the official selections and category winners.

Screening – Films chosen by our jurors as Official Selections will be screened at an all-day event on SaturdaySeptember 12, 2020 in Evansville, Indiana (USA) in the Koch Immersive Theater at the Evansville Museum of Arts, History and Science.

Official Selections – Films winning cash awards of the EMIFF will be announced to the public at two film festival screenings on Saturday, September 12, 2020. Filmmakers who are chosen as an Official Selections of the Festival will receive free admission to EMIDFF.

Drone Film Festival Categories: Land, Sky, Water, Air (landscapes, nature, urban), Show Reel (put together all of your best shots) and Open Category (films that do not fit into our other two categories).

Discretionary Awards: Best of Show, Best Student Entry, People’s Choice Award.

Notification Date: You will be notified if your entry was accepted as an official selection in our festival by the notification date of Monday, August 31, 2020. Entry in our festival does not constitute automatically being an Official Selection.

Winning Films – One winning film in each category, plus up to three discretionary awards will be announced to the public at two film festival screenings on Saturday, September 12, 2020. Prizes will be delivered to film makers in U.S. Dollars by check payable to a U.S. bank delivered to U.S. addresses by the United States Postal Service. If you are not in the U.S., you agree to accept payment by the PayPal service. You will be contacted if your film is winning entry .

Student Films- Entries eligible for our Student Award must be submitted by a student currently enrolled in an accredited educational institution.

Subtitles – Are welcome, but not required, expect in the case of non-English speaking films, which must include English subtitles.

By entering your film into the Evansville Museum International Drone Film Festival EMIDFF you accept full legal responsibility for the intellectual property contained within your film and that you have cleared all contents of the film with the respective copyright holders prior to submission to the festival. By entering your work into this festival this constitutes permission to exhibit your work at the EMIDFF. We reserve the right to use segments of your submitted film for promotional purposes only, including but not limited to broadcast on TV or the internet. You agree that the EMIDFF may use your publicity stills prior to the festival for marketing, promotional activities and publicity purposes. We may also screen your film for judging, media review purposes or for exhibition, launch, after parties, partner events in association with We will always contact you (or a nominated filmmaker) to inform you of this prior to use.

Consent of parent or guardian must be obtained where a minor may be a participant in the film festival or competition. If the winner of a prize is under the age of 18 years, the prize will be awarded to the winner's nominated parents or guardian.

The Filmmaker grants EMIDFF the non¬exclusive right to exhibit the film at the EMIDFF. Additionally, Filmmaker grants EMIDFF the right to exhibit the Film up to ten times at EMIDFF branded events for a period of one year. You authorize EMIDFF to display your film on the EMIDFF website and give express permission to the festival to screen your film publicly at without monetary compensation.

EMIDFF does not claim any ownership rights to the content and films, the intellectual property and proprietary rights existing anywhere in the world and EMIDFF acquire no ownership, proprietary or other rights to your work and or film.

By submitting your film, it does not guarantee acceptance and selection of the work into the EMIDFF. You agree that you are aware that all films received will be reviewed by jury and judged, and that some films may not be selected for cinema screening as official selection of EMIDFF. You accept this risk.

This agreement is made in the state of Indiana, The United States of America and is governed by its laws.
