Devil's Night Gallery will be an evening of film and art in the spirit of Rod Serling's classic television series, Night Gallery. In the past we've held events in Detroit and Pittsburgh. Like everybody else, we went digital for our 2020 edition and in 2021, we came back to an even bigger stage! That year we partnered with The Senate Theater in Detroit to hold our event there on Oct. 30th (Devil's Night!) along with a screening of Alex Proyas' "The Crow" for an epic Devil's Night Double Feature. We're crawling out of the Alley Cat Cafe's cellar room in Pontiac, MI for 2023. So plan to join us on October 31st for the most unique evening you'll see all year.

A small handful of films will be selected to screen for this event and for each film selected, an original piece of art will be created by a local artist, based on the individual films. During the screening, the art pieces will be revealed and a short introduction given before each film is shown.

For this unique event, we're specifically looking for short films (20 mins or less) that can fit into the horror or sci-fi genres. Any budget, any skill level and any completion date is acceptable but we are looking for films with a unique take on these genres. Particularly ones with some sort of unexpected or twist ending.

There will be no prizes but if selected, your film will screen before a real audience and we'll be happy to send you a print of the original art based on your film.

We have no real rules. We only ask that accepted filmmakers do their part to help promote the screening because a bigger audience for their film means a bigger audience for all of us.

Additionally, we make no claims to the rights of your films. By submitting you are granting us the right to screen your film to a public audience for 2 online showings (the official one and then a likely encore one, probably the next night or a week later) if officially selected. We may also consider doing a physical media release of the screening but you will be notified before that happens and be given the option to consent or have your film omitted from that.

Terry and crew did an amazing job with Devil’s Night Gallery. We were very happy to screen Salamander at the fest this year, and are thrilled with the artwork that was created. Can’t say enough kind things. Looking forward to coming back next year.

I love everything about this event. It’s such a unique idea and perfectly conceived. Local artists responding to short horror films with their own works of art?! Come on! I feel so honored to have been selected. My film played over 60 festivals and won many awards, but nothing has compared to this honor. I hope this festival goes on forever and that I get to return one day. What fun!

  • Very unique and cool festival! The communication was great and I can wait to hang the art work that was made for my film! If you’re looking for some thing that’s not your average festival then this is the fest for you!!
