Darrell Varga bakes bread in Halifax Canada where he is also on the faculty of the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD), teaching Film History, Visual Culture and Documentary filmmaking. He is the author of many publications, including: Shooting From the East: Filmmaking on the Canadian Atlantic. Previous films include Hunters and Gatherers, screened at the Toronto International Film Festival (1994), Working Days for TVOntario and the essay film Fire, Ice and Sky.
